at a restaurant
If you’d rather go out for the evening, or get a few more people involved in your event, then you could always do Care for a curry?™ at a local restaurant. To start planning your event, email us at careforacurry@alzscot.org or call Moira, our events manager, on 0845 2600 789.
Many restaurants tend to be quieter mid-week and are often willing to provide a fixed price menu (usually around £10 per head) for groups of 10 or more. It’s ideal for a night out with the boys (or girls!), or a social outing for classes/groups that you take part in. Let people know that you’re planning a night out to raise money for charity and sell tickets for around £5-7 above the price the restaurant charges per head. Restaurants are often pleased to have guaranteed custom on an otherwise quiet night; if you’re planning a large event with lots of available tickets, it works well for your fundraising and for the restaurant to get some coverage in the local press.

To raise even more money, you could hold a raffle on the night. How about asking local businesses (hairdressers/barbers, florists etc) to provide raffle prizes?
£50 can go a long way…
People with dementia truly cherish reminders of their youth. £50 covers the cost of a selection of books, DVDs and CDs to help with reminiscence work in our day care centres.
Care for a Curry?™ is a fundraising initiative of Alzheimer Scotland: helping people with dementia and their carers across Scotland.
