at work
February 21st, 2008
Perhaps you want to liven things up at the office, feed your factory or generally get your workmates involved in the Care for a curry?™ goodness. Get your event underway by emailing us at careforacurry@alzscot.org or calling Moira, our events manager, on 0845 2600 789.
- Does your workplace have a canteen? Talk to the caterers - they might have their own ideas for a special curry menu at a set price. Charge slightly more for the special curry option and you’ll make a profit on every curry sold. Just make sure that your colleagues know that it’s all for a good cause
- If your workplace is a bit too small for a canteen, you could always arrange a large delivery from a nearby takeaway. Speak to local takeaways/restaurants about arranging a large order, such as a banquet for 20 (or however many you like!) to be delivered to your place of work. They may even be willing to offer a discount for such a big purchase. Spread the word among colleagues that a slap-up curry lunch will be available on a set date. Charge enough per person to cover the cost of the takeaway plus £3-4 per head
- To boost the fundraising, you could always hold a raffle/tombola. Give colleagues plenty of advance notice that you’re looking for prizes and be sure that staff at all levels get involved!
£150 could make a huge difference…
Alzheimer Scotland funds a specialist dementia nurse at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, to improve care for people with dementia in acute wards. £150 will cover the costs of this nursing provision for one day.
Care for a Curry?™ is a fundraising initiative of Alzheimer Scotland: helping people with dementia and their carers across Scotland.
